Sandy's Beauty!

Just finished quilting Sandy's amazing pieced and appliqued quilt. Her applique is probably the best I've seen and her fabric and color choices all work together beautifully.

 

Here's a close-up of the border where I stitched using the fabric design as my guide.

 

In the center she used the glorified 9-patch block in two ways, one plain with a center appliqued circle, the other with two layer applique petals. I designed the quilting to be unique for the two types of blocks then surrounded them both with freehand heirloom feathers for some movement.

 

As this is a traditional quilt, I used matching thread throughout.
