Last quilt before the wedding!

Customer Liz's quilt has been hanging out in my studio for a while, initially waiting for a new back, then getting put to the back burner with Liz's husband's accident and rehab. Now it's done and ready for pick-up.

Here's the full view, lots of unusual fabrics that work very well together. Liz chose to have an overall quilting design in the center with the borders quilted in separate designs. I used one thread throughout, a Superior Sew Fine greenish beige which blended beautifully with all of the fabrics. Also, used Quilter's Dream wool batting which gives such a large quilt a light, soft feel - a good choice.

Worked with the piecing to design the border quilting and added an asian design to the corners for extra interest.

And here's a better view of the center overall quilting. A spike and loop combination with lots of movement which enhances the straight lines of the blocks.

Done working in the studio for the week - daughter's wedding Saturday and tons to do to get ready for out-of-town guests and just general prep. Lots of festivities too!!!
